Strawberry Star’s Newham Giving contribution reaches benefactors

Created: Jul 17 2019

Strawberry Star Group’s continued association with Newham Giving, an innovative local giving programme supporting community projects that offer a lifeline to families in need of activities for children and young people during the school holidays in the London borough of Newham, received appreciation.

For the second consecutive year, Strawberry Star was part of the Newham Giving through a monetary contribution, which reached the benefactors on 17th July, 2019. To mark the occasion, donors interacted with the benefactors at an event organised by East End Community Foundation. Strawberry Star Group’s Non-Executive Director Vinod Tailor represented the organisation at the event.

As an organisation with responsibility towards society and community, Strawberry Star partners with various charity and forums, to take forward the inclusive development and empowerment programmes. The organisation is focused on socially inclusive plans for London and its local offices frequently partner with community organisations to extend support in various forms.

While the organisation is clearly aligned on the housing strategy, it gives equal importance to CSR-related initiatives. The organisation generously contributes to various community initiatives at the borough level, including Newham Giving Summer School Holiday Scheme by East End Community Foundation, empowering children with special needs and charity events.

Recently, the organisation supported the ‘Fight for Peace’ initiative, providing youths with an opportunity to develop sporting skills, attend workshops on knife crime and sensitise them on the dangers of gang involvement. The programme also addressed access to employment skills and mentoring young people who are not in education, training or employment (NEET), for job opportunities.
