Last week saw the global launch of Strawberry Star, delivering a yet unseen offer to the London property market. Moving forward, our clients will only pay the commission they think our service is worth.

They do this upon completion, allowing each and every transaction to reach the very end stage before the calibre of customer service is evaluated. The proposition is simple, underpinned with a rationale that responds to rife consumer discontent – across the nation – towards the state of estate agent services.

To understand the nation’s perception of estate agent services further, we have commissioned independent research – titled Estate Agent Evaluations – to break-down not only the primary causes for discontent, but the areas prime for vital improvement.

By gathering the thoughts of over 2,000 consumers nationwide, we discovered that 76% have had a negative experience with an estate agent. By analyzing our sample on a region-by-region basis, we discovered that this level of dissatisfaction reached a staggering 88% in London. This equates to over 4 million people in the capital alone contributing the highest levels of national discontent.

Not only did our sample explore feedback regionally, but we also conducted a generational comparison and found that younger age brackets have been the most underserved by their estate agent. Of our youngest sample that had dealt with an agent – those aged 18-24 year olds – only 5% said they had not had a negative experience.

This will enable us and our consumers to map out the highest levels of discontent across the UK and pinpoint the markets most disheartened by the service they have received from their estate agent.
